Hi,
I was interested in one of your replies saying that the patient should cut out lactose & soya if the symptoms aren't getting any better.
I've been on a gluten and lactose free diet for 1.5 years and have been egg, soya, yeast free for 3 months (under a nutritionist's guidelines). Although my pre-GF symptoms have got about 80% better i'm still experience the bloating, uncomfortableness, wind etc etc that i did before (but to a lesser extent). I've tried IBS tablets but they had no effect what-so-ever.
Could this still be me getting better or could i have additional intolerances? i still feel like this after a cup of herbal tea and there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.
I had read that excess sugar could cause similar symptoms and i'm aware that many of the GF/LF treats i have are laden in sugar!
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, it is always possible that you have an additional food intolerance just like the 40% of the population without coeliac disease who may also be affected. You might like to contact YorkTest laboratories and consider having your antibodies tested against a whole range of dietary products. Remember that a few CD sufferers for no obvious reason never fully recover their complete intestinal anatomy when avoiding gluten so some symptoms may unfortunately continue.
