Dear Aimee
Only a doctor can properly diagnose coeliac disease. There are a number of ways of investigating whether you have the disease, through blood tests and even taking biopsies of the gut. Wheat intolerance is a sort of umbrella term for more vague symptoms associated with eating wheat but different to an allergy which involves an allergic reaction of the immune system. You need to find out if you have coeliac disease and if you do you must follow a gluten free diet always (even when you are feeling well). Keep a diary of your food intake and any associated symptoms for a few weeks and then make an appointment to see your GP. Take your diary with you so he/she can see what should happen next.
