Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and wanted to find out what people generally eat for lunch? At the moment I'm still eating pasta since diagnosis as Coeliac in August.  I don't like a lot of the gluten free breads so have pretty much given bread up! Now Im getting bored of pasta and really need ideas for something different that tastes nice.

Any ideas greatly appreciated

I get a lovely bread from the Chemist. you order it just get a prescription for it from the doctors and the chemist phones up for it, its really nice and can be eaten straight for the bag, they back it in loaves of eight fresh for you, I freeze mine putting them into half loaves then you only have to get half out at a time. and when they are defrosting wrap the in kitchen roll as it will stop them going soggy,

Hope this helps you. Tweety Pie

I have been dealing with a gluten free diet for my daughter for the past 10 years so have tried many types of bread etc.  The ones we have found the best are from Lifestyle. You can order online and many items are available on prescription. My daughter likes their bread. Very small loaves for some reason and she prefers it toasted.

However, the supermarkets seem to be increasing their gluten-free ranges almost daily which is great. The 'sub-rolls' in packs of two, available at ASDA and Tesco (their own make probably) are really nice and soft especially when blasted in the microwave for 20 secs as per their instructions. My daughter prefers these for taking in packed lunches.

My advice would be to try out different brands and take advantage of free samples which many companies offer. Glutafin and DS (dietary specials) to mention two. DS make other nice products too.

Good luck and don't give up - lots of nice bread out there!
